SPS Happenings!
|
Dear SPS Families and Friends, We are well into a solid instructional routine at Saluda Primary School. Balanced Literacy is in full swing. Parents may have noticed a very detailed and clarified report card. Our teachers have collaborated with teachers at Hollywood Elementary to ensure accurate reporting of your child's academic success. I am very pleased with our literacy levels at SPS, however we still have significant numbers of students reading below their current grade level. The quickest way to get better is practice, practice, practice. Much like with sports, you have to practice correctly and having adults to help guide is very important. We are also working to improve Math achievement. Look for daily Math Academy time to begin in January as well as more emphasis on Math practice at home. Our Saluda Primary School Show Choir is practicing two times a week and we look forward to showcasing their talents as the holiday season approaches. Please continue to use the agendas for daily communication and look for calendars, papers, and newsletters in the Monday folders. It has been my pleasure to serve the students and parents at our school. If I can be of any assistance, please give us a call. Corey S. Burns, Principal Saluda Primary School 864-445-2469 |
