We are excited about the upcoming visit from Greg Zelnik, magician entertainer who will present "Catch the Reading Bug" to our students on Tues., November 18. This assembly program is educational in that it promotes reading and ways to keep the planet green by discussing how to reduce, reuse, recycle and compost. We will be taking pre-orders for his book and he will sign them. Mr. Zelnik combines magic, storytelling, puppets, audience participation and enthusiasm for reading into a great show. His "Catch the Reading Bug" show features "Carolina" Zelnik leads the students on an exciting adventure but will need their help to find clues.

The PTA needs your help to improve our playground areas! Send your loose change to school for our Pennies for Playgrounds campaign. Each classroom has a jug and the class with the most money raised wins a prize.
The Salvation Army is having their Annual Christmas Food Drive and would appreciate our support. If you would like to donate non-perishable food items, they will be accepted at SPS through December 12, 2008.
Due to problems of overloading buses and trouble locating students during bus routes, we will no longer allow children to ride buses other than their assigned bus. School buses will only be allowed to take students to their designated stops: either the family’s primary home address or the address of the regular child care provider, as provided during registration. If either the family or the babysitter moves, proof of the new address must be provided to the school before the student will be re-assigned to another bus.
